Our little trip to Lough Erne

Our little trip to Lough Erne

March took me and two girl friends off to Lough Erne for a night away and an opportunity to catch up whilst dining on chef Noel McMeel's delicious dishes.  We arrived in to the resort on one of the best day's we have had all year, the sun was splitting the trees!

The lakes couldn't have looked more beautiful and our room in the bungalow in the grounds had sweeping views of the Lough that we didn't want to leave.  Noel had left a welcome basket and a little bottle of bubbly for us to enjoy, which we did whilst taking in the views before a big walk around the grounds and then we changed for dinner.

Noel had selected an individual menu for each of us, one of our guest was a vegetarian another had been recently and he just knew what I would like!  The breakfast menu was also a who's who in local food, with 11 different outstanding producers listed on the breakfast menu.  We dined superbly.

The biggest attribute to Lough Erne is the staff, it's my second visit and they are absolutely world class.  No wonder the G8 had their summit here, it's superb.  But they are remarkably good at making you feel very much at home - warmly welcomed.

With a new water taxi food tour happening on the Lough, I hope to visit again soon, maybe reach the spa on my third visit (did I mention they have an excellent wine and gin list - eek!) and discover much more of Fermanagh.
