Top Three Hot Chocolates in Belfast!

Top Three Hot Chocolates in Belfast!

As ever these days, the multi-nationals continue to expand into Belfast with their ever deep pockets to spend on marketing, and prime city centre locations, to ensure that we notice them above all others. This means that we don’t see the local businesses that are equally as good, if not better, than the big guys and who are the magic sparkle that keep this city unique.

Enter Taste & Tour!

With the snow falling around us, what better time is there to shout about the local businesses serving excellent hot chocolate here in Belfast city centre. There’s no reason to feel guilty if you go to the places serving the good stuff.  Why?  Well, chocolate is a fruit (come on the Belfast Food Tour and you'll learn all about that)!  Even better than that, it’s great for your gut health too and apparently a great way to cure a hangover... not that we'd have that in January eh?! So bin the probiotics* and grab a hot chocolate from these guys instead:

Daisies

Our number-one venue for hot chocolate for the last decade. Filling our cups up with the multi-award-winning Co Couture Hot Chocolate, this spot has been a stop on the Belfast Food Tour from the very beginning.  Daisie's is a little underground (literally) hidden gem with the ever-welcoming Martin at the helm. They serve Raise Trade Madagascan chocolate, so not only are you doing great things for your body by drinking this hot chocolate, but you are doing great things for the economy of Madagascar, which really needs it.

Neighbourhood Café

Yes okay, right now, Neighbourhood Cafe is closed while it relocates to new premises around the corner, but you can find their truck at our favourite interior design shop Maven on the Lisburn Road. These guys are the type who really think about what is in your cup beyond all else so we can absolutely trust them to serve up some delicious hot chocolate.  Did someone say Cardamon and Clove Neary Nogs Hot Chocolate with added burnished fluff on top... yes please!

Bakari Bakery

What could be better than getting the freshest and best bread in the city alongside a Bean and Goose Hot Chocolate with, wait for it... salted caramel mallows from The Mallow Makers!! Shut up and take my money!! Again Bakari are all about the quality so their hot chocolate is tip-top.

We don’t know a better way to treat yourself this January without any guilt and we know these beauties will clear away any of the January blues!

*obviously don’t bin them.
