Party Wines (aka crowd-pleasers that won’t break the bank!)

If you’re hosting the extended family, the neighbours, their neighbours, their plus ones, or maybe even a few seasonal strangers – these are the wines to keep everyone merry without emptying your wallet.

1. Casalotta Durello Spumante Brut NV

A brilliant alternative to the over-whelming selection of Prosecco that’s flooding the shelves recently. It’s from the same region as Prosecco, uses the same production method, but this grape brings a fruitier, drier and sassier vibe!

2. The Zensa Range

This range is hard to look past if you’re looking for good value wines for guests to glug at a party. Italian, organic, vegan-friendly, delicious, and almost impossible not to like. These wines are all crafted from indigenous grape varieties and offer fantastic bang for your buck.

Bubbles (to me, from me!)

Christmas is about giving… but it’s also about having one or two bottles that are just for you.

3. Domaine J. Laurens Crémant de Limoux

These bubbles use a traditional method, that isn’t as costly or labour-intensive as Champagne, and is half the price! This wine consistently receives high scores from Decanter, and for a reason.

Christmas Dinner (the big day deserves big wines!)

Whether you’re going traditional with a local turkey, or rogue with a roast beef, here are some tasty, versatile options for you.

4. Cavit Brusafer Pinot Nero

Pinot Noir + turkey = a Christmas love story to rival Phil’s favourite festive rom-com, The Holiday. This Pinot from Northern Italy is on the lighter end of the scale and is elegant, unusual and class value.

5. Anthonij Rupert Optima

If you’re ditching turkey for beef or lamb, this plush South African red steps up beautifully. Rich but not overdone.

6. Xanadu Vineworks Chardonnay

If you say you “don’t like Chardonnay,” you just haven’t met the right one.

Come on the Wine Wander and we will change your mind – promise! This bottle is gorgeous – and created by an Omagh man who helped put Margaret River on the global wine map.

Mid-Tier Wines for Quiet Moments (pop the fire on, grab a book and enjoy!)

These are fresh, light-bodied crunchy reds that don’t require food. Sharing optional.

7. Uva Non Grata Gamay

This is a juicy, gluggable red packed with raspberry-cherry goodness and a hint of spice. It’s light, fun, and dangerously easy to keep topping up your glass.

👉 Uva Non Grata Gamay

8. Strange Kompanjie Cinsault

This is a bright, juicy red that bursts with crunchy red-berry vibes; think raspberries, cherries and a smidge of spice.

👉 Strange Kompanjie Cinsault

9 & 10. Prunus Red & White (Portugal)

These White and Red (Branco and Tinto) Portuguese wines use indigenous grape varieties and are great value. Effortlessly drinkable!

👉 Prunus Branco & Tinto

11. Rhône Lovers (rejoice!)

If warming Rhône-style reds are up your alley, this whole set seriously over-delivers.

👉 Boutinot Les Six Carianne

12. Demarie Roero Arneis

A beautiful northern Italian white from a small family winery (Paolo Demarie is pictured in the photo with me above!) that Spiritly works with directly with – crisp, aromatic, and guaranteed to impress both wine nerds and wine newbies.

👉 Demarie Roero Arneis

Oh and the rest of the range is totally worth checking out too – especially if you fancy a Barolo or Barbaresca.

Bonus Wines: Weird & Wonderful (sure, the best of us are?!)

Because life’s too short not to drink something that makes your guests say “Wait… what IS that?”
